Course Description

In today’s digitalization era the demand for financial modeling skills has increased exponentially and many finance based jobs required the core skill of financial modeling.

This course will teach you the basics of financial modeling and the way of creating successful Financial Models with the help of an excel. In general term financial modeling is to be considered as a forecast the future cash flows with hypothetical outcomes. It’s a process of creating a financial model, which help to give the solution of any corporate financial issue and helps to develop the strategies for the future.

In almost all the finance domain (valuation of a company, valuation of an assets, mergers and acquisition, option pricing, budgeting, capital allocation, investment decisions, risk management etc.)Financial Modeling is the 'Core' Skill. Acquaint knowledge of financial modeling will help you to build a carrier as investment banker, risk analyst, project manager, fund manager, equity analyst, credit analyst etc.

This course is going to be delivered through a mixture of PPT’s, case studies, excel hands-on and AV’s. Introduction to Financial Modeling: Meaning and Types of Financial Models, Tools and Techniques of Financial Modeling, Uses of Financial Modeling, Process of Financial Model Development, Financial Modeling Skills.

Module 2: Week 2- 4 Hours

Creating Financial Model: Identify the problem, Gathering Data, Layout of Model, Defining inputs, calculations, and output blocks, determine audience, Basics of Excel, conditional formatting and Excel Formulas

Module 3: Week 3- 4 Hours

Valuation, Scenario Analysis & Sensitivity: Valuation Methods: DCF Analysis, Comparable Analysis (“Comps”), Precedent Transactions, Pivot Table, Pivot Chart, what if analysis, Applying Sensitivity Analysis, Applying Scenario Manager.

Module 4: Week 4- 4 Hours

Financial Modeling Techniques: Developing 3 Statements Model with excel.
